KYC and Account Verification
When verification is requested
Registration itself needs no documents. Verification is usually requested at the first withdrawal, when a deposit pattern looks unusual, or when an account may be linked to another one. Doing it early, right after registration, avoids a delay at the moment you want your money.
What is asked for
- A national ID or passport, both sides, readable.
- A photo of you holding the document next to your face.
- Occasionally proof of address or of the payment method, and a short phone or video call.
How long it takes
Up to 72 hours from the moment the documents are received. Blurred or cropped images are the most common reason for a repeat request, so photograph the document flat, in daylight, with all corners visible.
Keep your details current
Withdrawals go only to the M-Pesa number on the account. If you change your number, update it in the settings before requesting a payout; a payout to a number that does not match the account is refused.
